Pelé (born 21 October 1940) also known as Edson Arantes do Nascimento. He is a retired Brazilian footballer.He was able to play in Forward and Attacking midfield Position. In 1999, Pelé was voted Football Player of the Century by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics. In that year Pelé was elected "Athlete of the Century" by the International Olympic Committee and Reuters News Agency.During his playing days he the best paid athlete in the world.


Pelé  is the most successful league goal scorer in the world.He has 541 league goals record. In total Pelé scored 1281 goals in 1363 appearances.In his country Brazil Pelé was accosted as a national hero.He had a very good contribution for Brazil national football team.He is also acknowledged for improving the social conditions of the poor people.when Pelé scored his 1,000th goal he dedicated it to the poor children of his country.In his football career he had many Distinction like as The Black Pearl, The King of Football and The King Pelé.


He exceeded his Youth career in Bauru.In 1956 he joined Santos.Pelé began playing for Santos at the age of 15 and his national team at the age of 16.When he was just 17 he won his first World Cup. Pelé made his senior team debut in 1956 on 7 September at the age of 16 against Corinthians Santo Andre. Pelé  became the top scorer in the league when he was 16.He scored 619 goals in 638 appearances for Santos.In 1975 Pelé sign with the New York Cosmos. He scored 31 goals in 56 appearances for New York Cosmos. On 1 October 1977, Pelé closed out his football career in an exhibition match between the Santos and Cosmos. Pelé won three FIFA World Cup in his football career.Which was in 1958,1962 and 1970.
